You Don't Got This, Mama!

You Don't Got This, Mama!

Hi friends! I am so excited to announce the launch of my first book, You Don’t Got This, Mama! A God-Centered Way to Embrace Weakness in Motherhood (insert squealing, excited noises here). This book has been YEARS in the making, and I honestly can’t believe it’s out in the world right now. I’m so thankful that our local bookstore, The Bookworm of Edwards, hosted the book launch last night! It was an evening filled with love from my church family and my Bookworm family. It was such a humbling moment to see the love and support from our community.

I wrote most of this book during my second child’s first year. I was deep in the trenches of having an infant and a toddler, and it was a beautiful and chaotic season. But it was in this season that God truly brought me to the end of myself. I could no longer claim I had anything under control, and that’s where God began to shift my perspective into this book.

Starting with the beauty of the creation account and working our way through the fall of mankind and how that single event affects all of humanity, my hope behind this book is to encourage moms to see that the gospel is enough in all circumstances: from sleep deprivation to hormonal shifts to the string of mundane days that moms can find themselves in.

I decided to write this book in two distinct parts. In the first section, I wanted to look at the big-picture perspective of the state of motherhood - why motherhood is so hard, how God intends motherhood to look, and how we can glorify Him, even in our weakest moments. The second section of the book is more practical. I look at definitive realities in motherhood, such as sleep deprivation, persisting through the mundane days, what to do when hormones rage, and how we can specifically apply the truths we learn in the first half of the book to moments we are likely living through every day.

Motherhood is hard, my friend. You are not alone in the tough days. But one thing I hope you will take from this book is that, even though there are countless challenges, we don’t have to let the hard days steal the joy from motherhood. This season is a gift. The trials are a gift. Your weaknesses are a gift. So, allow me to be the first to tell you, with all the love in my heart, “You don’t got this, mama.” You don’t have to have it all together. God’s got this. He is the One who is holding the entire universe together, and He is also holding you. Let’s cling to that amazing truth as we walk together through motherhood.

You can purchase the book from The Bookworm of Edwards, directly from my publisher, Shepherd Press, or from Amazon! Thank you so much for your support!
