All in Motherhood
I do my best to foster these questions and point my babies to God in every moment, and I’m always looking for resources to help. These are some of my favorites!
Run to God as your refuge. Lava is all around us. Make sure you’re in the ONLY safe place.
My days are filled with breakdowns and bedtime snuggles, endless whining and endless imaginations, incredibly loud tantrums, and incredibly sweet conversations. These days are bitter and sweet in a way that brings me to my wit’s end and down to my knees.
God is so faithful to remind us of who he is and who we are in him. The beauty of his gospel can be found in the dirtiest of moments. The message of his grace is all around us.
When I cling to God in my life and in my motherhood, when I run to his arms and embrace his ability and willingness to carry me through anything, that is when I find the abundant life he promises.
In the chaos, in the noise, in the regular toddler karaoke that bursts out unannounced, my heart can be at peace, and I can bring that peace into our home.
Don’t grow weary in this good, good work. And maybe find a good water bottle with a firmly attached straw.
Snacking is necessary for my kids to get from one meal to next without becoming feral, and I’m starting to think the same is true for me.
The answer is grace. God’s grace thrives in the wintery seasons of our lives.
Walking through this season of motherhood with the same humility Christ showed to the world is a beautiful picture of the gospel.
These pain points are a gift. They are glorious. They are hard. They hurt. And they are worth it.
How do we bring this incredible, sovereign, holy God down to the level of a three-year old?
Let us approach each day of motherhood wearing these God-glorifying attributes, ready to tackle whatever God would have us walk through.
This living sacrifice we can offer to Christ won’t look like this forever. It will change as our season of life shifts. But regardless of what season we are in, our God is worth every moment of worship we can offer and more.
Living in discontentment didn’t work out for Tinkerbell and I assure you, it won’t work out for us.
Cling to Christ in the chaos. Share his gospel with your littles. Worship him when it feels like you’re failing. These messy moments can glorify God if we keep our sights on him and point others his way.
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
To all my young mama friends out there, stay the course. Look at how faithfully God has loved you in all of your mess and reflect that love to your beautiful little tantrum monsters.
