May your soul rejoice this morning at this glorious truth! Your Savior has come! Your soul has been saved! Your God has rescued you!
Each of these glorious truths is just as real on Christmas Day as they are every other day of the year.
Why are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you in turmoil within me?
Hope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my salvation and my God. Psalm 42:11
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” 1 John 3:1a
The Advent love we celebrate does not call us to suppress our brokenness until after the holidays. Rather, the love of our God that was manifested in the manger beckons us to come and find refuge.
The love of our God is a love like no other. Let your hearts rejoice and worship your God.
This love does not stop at the manger. We are called to carry it to this broken world in every season and in every moment. Let us proclaim the glorious news of our Savior!
The manger heralded the arrival of God’s love on earth, a love that none could comprehend.
“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.” 2 Thessalonians 3:16
I am certain these uncertain days will become a distant memory as we begin our eternity in glorious presence of our King.
In a world where a thousand fears and worries clamor for our heart’s attention, consider Jesus. Set your minds and hearts on him.
“And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.” Colossians 3:15
The peace with God that we were given so long ago is worth celebrating! But we would be wise to not let the busyness our celebrating can create overshadow the gift we’ve been given.
“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.” 2 Thessalonians 3:16
May God refresh your hearts today with the unshakable, never failing, eternal hope he gifted us with the birth of his Son.
